EGYPT

Egypt is a country in northeastern Africa and the Middle East. Its rich history, dating back more than five thousand years, is reflected in archaeological sites in the fertile Nile Valley, including the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, as well as the Karnak Temple, whose walls are covered with hieroglyphs, and the Valley of the Kings with the tombs of the pharaohs in the Luxor area. The capital, Cairo, is famous for the Mohammed Ali Mosque, built during the Ottoman Empire, and the Egyptian Museum, where the mummies of the pharaohs and gilded wooden statues of Tutankhamun are on display.
